Eliot Hodges is a math concentrator and gifted cellist who has balanced both passions during his time at Harvard College. As a recipient of the Churchill Scholarship, Eliot will be studying at Cambridge next year.

Combining her fascination for Germany with her interest in politics and government, Addie began a project to investigate how the Cold War continues to shape German identity.

Ben didn’t let a spinal-cord injury stop him from pursuing a Harvard education, and now he plans to combine his interests in economics and sports with a career in personal finance.

Joy Castro-Wehr
While at Harvard, Joy developed a unique understanding of spiritual care, informed by compassionately and creatively listening to others. After graduation, she will pursue a Clinical Pastoral Education residency at Johns Hopkins and will also continue in the ordination process.

Michael Fuhrman
Michael’s interest in divinity school was sparked by his HDS alum teacher and mentor at the University of Arkansas. While at Harvard, he taught with Harvard’s Bridge Program for adult learners and with Alexander Twilight Academy, a middle school enrichment program.

Following a successful professional basketball career in Europe and Canada, Kazembe has pivoted to something else that he’s passionate about: working with youth.
While at HGSE, Gabriela founded Appstinence, a student organization focused on the goal of being social media free.
While at Harvard, Julie worked as a student ambassador at the university’s Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability, helping connect students, faculty, and resources on all things climate.
In his final capstone paper, Brendan explored the academic experiences and outcomes for youth in foster care, using his experiences as a high school math teacher to guide his research.

Bella Pignataro

As a U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel and pilot, Roni hopes to use her Ph.D. in Public Policy to help the Air Force meet its future challenges and, eventually, to teach future leaders.

With a degree in public policy, Caren wants to return to Las Vegas and work with labor unions and worker centers to strengthen worker protections and support pathways to economic opportunity.

After several years of legal practice in her native Nigeria, Blessing came to Harvard Law to further explore the profession, focusing on mergers and acquisitions.

Jowan Watson
During his time at Harvard Medical School, Jowan created a first-of-its-kind residency training curriculum in sports psychiatry so doctors can more thoroughly help injured athletes.

After graduation, Emily will complete her residency at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, where she hopes to support patients’ recoveries while pursuing her interests in disability advocacy and health policy.

Chris Buswinka
While at Harvard, Chris realized there was a technical need in the science of hearing. He used AI to enable deeper data analysis that could drive the discovery of new treatments for hearing loss.

Xixi Zhou
For Xixi, the moment she knew she wanted to go into endodontics was during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, when she was treating a high volume of emergency patients in pain.
Bart Volo
After graduation, Bart will complete a general practice residency in Boston at the VA Medical Center. He looks forward to gaining experience across all areas of dentistry and providing comprehensive dental care to U.S. veterans.
Nithya Ramesh
Nithya’s interest in dental public health was first sparked by an experience working with perinatal women with a history of substance use disorder.

Lakshmi Priya
While Lakshmi—a Fulbright scholar and doctor—pursued a degree in Global Health, she also performed at Harvard Chan School’s annual International Night celebration with her daughter, singing a Carnatic classical piece and performing a classical dance form called Kathak.
While pursuing a Ph.D., Kenny conducted a study which analyzed decades of data from more than one million adults to understand the connection between heart health and ultra processed foods.
Marykate began pursuing a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology while also working at Harvard as an environmental public health officer, preventing communicable diseases and gastrointestinal illnesses.
With a degree in occupational and environmental health, Francis plans to improve the health and safety of miners in his native country of Ghana, and worldwide.
