Harvard Medical School’s Master of Medical Sciences in Clinical Investigation degree provides training in the methods and conduct of clinical discovery for future leaders in either clinical or translational investigation. This two-year program has both didactic and mentored research components. For the clinical investigation track, following foundational learning in year 1, students can customize their learning in year 2 by either focusing on comparative research or clinical trials. The clinical investigation program is designed for postgraduate clinician-scientists who already have an M.D., Ph.D., D.D.S. or Pharm.D. degree and are working at the fellowship or junior faculty level (or equivalent). The program is currently in a hybrid format because of the pandemic, but will revert to a residential format in 2022.
